SPERRY TOP - SIDER
The stormy sea, the slippery bridge and the struggle to find safe support almost cost Paul Sperry his life, and from that moment he began his long and ambitious search for a solution. One day in 1935, after seeing his dog run smoothly across the ice in Connecticut, Paul had an idea. Why not cut grooves, like those under the dog's paws, into the bottom of the rubber sole? Thanks to that moment of inspiration, the world's first boat shoe was born.
